The event is in just 2 days and to say I'm excited is an understatement! It will definitely be interesting to see how all the work we put in comes together. I can't wait!

The weeks have flown past and we have almost reached d-day! So far everything is going to plan and the workshops have been amazing. I can see the target, now time to aim and fire!

Today's workshop with the Globe Education was awesome!! It was inspiring and really got me thinking about the way I present myself in public and what areas I need to improve on. It was taught in such a fun way that I serious thought it was just one big drama lesson! SUCCESS! Just one week to go now!

It's really beginning to dawn on me! The event is a fortnight (and a day) away. It time to get the show on the road, things are really beginning to come together. But so are our nerves! We CAN pull it off! Now it's time to put together all the little details and team work is more important now than ever.
Working on ticket sales and finance has really given me the inside eye. I can do the projections which are needed and I can also see how we need to work before anybody else! Ticket sales are going fast, so don't wait until the day before- as that just won't be possible! Get your tickets NOW, NOW, NOW!
Let's go EA, let's go! Let's go EA, let's go!

I feel like everything is slowly starting to fit together; like a big jigsaw puzzle! Tomorrow is the public speaking workshop! I wonder how that will go.... :)
Go events academy! yay

The social networking is going amazing! We are now at 125 followers and to add to the excitement the tickets are selling fast, oh yeah I forgot to mention the tickets have gone on sale and now I believe they are selling like hot cakes! We still need to do the phone calls but everything is working out and everyone is more relaxed now and aren't as worried as before. We've only got a few weeks left,so we really have to step it up now but as long as we work as a team we can get it done and deliver an amazing event.
stop by next time to find out more...

Over the past few weeks I've been learning about event management from the professionals (IPC Media and First Protocol), marketing, organizing and business skills from other companies like Roast, Lloyds Banking Group and Think Productive!! I'm so lucky to be learning all of these new skills which I can apply not only to the world of work but also to my own personal life. With the ticketing research done, the run sheet on the way, the schedule leading up to the event basically completed and invitations sent out to A LOT OF PEOPLE, I can't help but smile at what we have accomplished in these few weeks!!!! Imagine, for a minute I seriously thought it was going all the wrong way....Must of been mad when I thought of that! :)

The event planning is off to a roaring start. Finance is looking up, website design and social media is sorted. The word is being spread! I am directly based in managing partnerships however working in closely with the logistics department. I work on sourcing delegates, speakers, finding a target audience and sustaining relations.
So far the journey has been really eye-opening and fun. We have been working to tight deadlines but I am managing.
In all, good stuff is going down!

Social Media? That's no problem for me. Currently I am working on the social media, I update our twitter feed to keep our followers informed about the big event and to gain support from businesses and young people. I have finished the v-brief and e-brief, they both describe what we are doing at the Events Academy and what we plan to achieve by the end of summer. Watch this spot to find out what I'll be doing next...
